OPERATIONAL INSTRUCTIONS NUMBER 85

1. 34th Inf Div (w/Jewish Brigade, Co A 752nd Tank Bn and 38th Inf Scout Dog Plat atchd) -- Continues present mission on ITALY-JUGOSLAV Frontier.

2. 168th Inf (w/38th Inf Scout Dog Plat atchd) --

-- Continues present mission.
-- Relieves Jewish Brigade of all committments in zone (See overlay) by 272400B July with exception of road posts on ITALY-AUSTRIA Frontier.

3. Jewish Brigade --

-- Assists 168th Inf in affecting relief.
-- Assembles for movement to NW Europe by 28 July as directed by CG 5th Corps (Br).
-- Detached 34th Inf Div control upon completion of relief.

4. General Instructions --

-- Direct liaison between Jewish Brigade and 168th Inf is authorized to arrange details of relief.
-- Control on the ITALY-AUSTRIA Frontier is being exercised by 5th Corps (Br) through 78th Inf Div (Br).
-- New boundary (See overlay) becomes effective upon departure of Jewish Brigade. Instructions on relief of 168th Inf elements W of new boundary by 201st Sub Area will be issued later.
-- Instructions for control to be exercised on the ITALY-JUGOSLAV Frontier by 168th Inf on assuming responsibility for TARVISO sector will be issued separately.
